As I mentioned in my journal, I got to revisit the 1995 Dr. Seuss special, Daisy-Head Mayzie, and have just been revisiting Dr. Seuss in general. (I think The Grinch Stole Christmas triggered this...)
Daisy-Head Mayzie is a very sweet story, for those who haven't seen the cartoon, or read the book. The thing I liked best was that the daisy sorta had a personality of its own, often in sync with Mayzie herself. One could think of it as a manifestation of Mayzie's active mind, if that's what Dr. Seuss was going for. Granted, it was based from an unfinished manuscript, but does contain all the charm and whimsy of Dr. Seuss' other classics.
I of course wanted to do at least one sketch of Mayzie with her parents, and added a couple touches of my own.
