Description
Originally part of a sketchdump I was planning, as a tribute to a character whose first cartoon was a Christmas adventure. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uBLHE…
This chibi originated from Paramount's Famous Studios in 1947. As a replacement for the pre-licensed Little Lulu, Little Audrey was one of the regular characters from the studio's Noveltoon series (along with Casper, Baby Huey, Herman & Katnip, among others). She later became a Harveytoon, when the characters were sold to Harvey Comics, later Classic Media, and now Dreamworks.
Save for a secondary role in a 1999 Baby Huey movie, Little Audrey has not appeared in any new films since 1958. Her comic book series ended in 1976. It'd be cool if Dreamworks ever got around to re-exploring this character, or really, the entire Noveltoon/Harveytoon collection.
If I ever get around to completing the sketchdump, I may include this in it anyways. I felt instead of using the usual #2 pencil, I'd use a True Blue Prismacolor, as a nod to Audrey's original blue dress (as opposed to the red in the comics).
